The Berrien County Youth Fair Board of Directors has announced that the rule to allow 5 year olds to receive premiums in livestock departments will be reinstated for the 2012 Berrien County Youth Fair.

The reinstatement will be determined by departments; currently beef, swine, horses and rabbits have decided to allow 5 year olds. This is a change from the past few years where only a few livestock departments allowed 5 year olds to show animals for ribbons only, no premiums. Other animal departments will make the decision to reinstate 5 year old classes at a later date. Still exhibit rules are unchanged, 5 year olds will continue to enter and receive premiums as in the past.   Families should refer to the 2012 Exhibitor Handbooks which will be available after May 1, 2012 or contact the Fair Office (269) 473-4251 with questions. The 2012 Berrien County Youth Fair, Where Magic Happens will be August 13-18.
